National Institute of rock mechanics NIRM is the only institution in south Asia exclusively devoted to research in rock mechanics since 1988. The institute deals with field and laboratory investigations, basic and applied research, and solving complex problems in the almost entire spectrum of Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering related to Mining and Civil Engineering activities.
